When the Blessing Comes

Representative Text

1 Burden’d soul, for pardon seeking at the feet of Him who died,
Safely shelter’d, neath His mercy where no evil can betide,
Never doubt His loving kindness, He will hear your pleading voice,
When the blessing comes you’ll know it, and you will rejoice.

Refrain:
And you will rejoice, and you will rejoice,
When the blessing comes you’ll know it and you will rejoice,
And you will rejoice, and you will rejoice,
When the blessing comes you’ll know it and you will rejoice.

2 Penitent, now lowly bowing at the Savior’s sacred feet,
Hear Him saying: “Come, O, sinner, I will give you pardon sweet!”
O then trust Him, fully trust Him, then will dawn salvation’s day!
When the blessing comes you’ll know it, “Praise the Lord!” you’ll say. [Refrain]

3 Seeker, do not grow discouraged, nor let doubts disturb your mind,
For the Savior’s full of mercy, O, He is so very kind!
He will come in mighty power, He will save you from your sin;
When the blessing comes you’ll know it, that He dwells within. [Refrain]

4 Firmly cling to Christ, the Savior, He is ever very near,
There is naught at all, my brother, that you ever need to fear;
Just leave go of all about you and take Jesus at His word,
When the blessing comes you’ll know it, shouting, “Praise the Lord?” [Refrain]
