As I Am Running

Representative Text

1 As I am running this race of life,
Lord, I am looking to Thee;
Rugged the pathway and fierce tho' the strife,
Lord, I am looking to Thee.

Refrain:
Thou art my Saviour, Thou art my friend.
My guardian angel to lead and defend;
Thou art at all times all things to me,
And I am looking to Thee,
Looking to Thee. Looking to Thee,
Yes, I am looking to Thee;
Looking to Thee. Looking to Thee,
Yes, I am looking to Thee.

2 From ev'ry pitfall save me I pray,
Lord, I am looking to Thee;
From ev'ry danger that's found on the way,
Save me, I'm looking to Thee. [Refrain]

3 Tho' friends forsake me and all I lose,
Lord, I am looking to Thee;
Thee for my portion I gladly shall choose,
Save me, I'm looking to Thee. [Refrain]

4 Life is perplexing, make plain my way,
Lord, I am looking to Thee;
Give me the power that I need each day,
Lord, I am looking to Thee. [Refrain]

5 Teach me to follow, make strong my heart,
Lord, I am looking to Thee;
All that I need, O Lord, surely Thou art,
And I am looking to Thee. [Refrain]
