Representative Text

1 A vision goes before me, day by day,
Jesus, blessed Jesus on the cross!
It keeps me in the straight and narrow way,
Jesus, blessed Jesus on the cross!

Refrain:
I see my loving Savior thro' my tears; (thro' my tears;)
His memory I cherish all the years (all the years;)
My heart no longer fears, since His sacrifice appears,
Jesus, blessed Jesus on the cross!

2 And when I see Him there in agony,
Jesus, blessed Jesus on the cross!
I marvel at His sacrifice for me,
Jesus, blessed Jesus on the cross! [Refrain]

3 For me He came from glory to the grave,
Jesus, blessed Jesus on the cross!
To save my soul His life for me He gave,
Jesus, blessed Jesus on the cross! [Chorus]

4 Henceforth that I my gratitude may prove,
Jesus, blessed Jesus on the cross!
I consecrate to Him my heart of love,
Jesus, blessed Jesus on the cross! [Chorus]
