Building On the Rock

1 We are building on the Rock which no tempest e’er can shock,
Tho’ the adverse winds may round us roar;
Our foundation’s sure and strong, we are here to conquer wrong,
Trusting Him whose aid we now implore.

2 No foundation could we lay in our own imperfect way,
Which would stand the storms that may assail;
But on Christ the solid Rock, we shall be a sheltered flock,

3 Let us labor then and sing, in this temple of the King;
In His service true we shall be blest;
In harmonious, happy bands, loyal hearts, united hands,
