Author: Ida L. Reed Appears in 5 hymnals Hymnal Title: Light in the Valley First Line: I am coming home, dear Saviour Refrain First Line: I am coming home, dear Saviour Lyrics: 1 I am coming home, dear Saviour, Long I've wand'red far from Thee; Now I long for peace and pardon, Grant me Thy forgiveness free. Chorus: I am coming home, dear Saviour, Take my soul, all sin defiled; Cleanse its stains in Calv'ry's fountain, O receive Thy erring child. 2 Long I've been in darkness straying, Now, O Lord, I turn to Thee; I am weary of my wand'ring, Hast Thou welcome still for me? [Chorus] 3 Let Thy loving smile, O Saviour, Shine across the night of sin; And its holy rays shall guide me, Gates of righteousness within. [Chorus] 4 I am coming home, my Saviour, Wilt Thou take my hand in Thine; Lead me forth from out the darkness, By Thy tender love divine?
