Author: Charles Wesley, 1707-1788 Hymnal: African Methodist Episcopal Church Hymnal #20 (2011) Meter: 8.6.8.6 Hymnal Title: African Methodist Episcopal Church Hymnal Lyrics: 1 O for a heart to praise my God! A heart from sin set free; A heart that always feels Thy blood, So freely shed for me; 2 A heart resigned, submissive, meek, My great Redeemer's throne, Where only Christ is heard to speak, Where Jesus reigns alone; 3 A humble, lowly, contrite heart, Believing, true and clean, Which neither life nor death can part From Him that dwells within; 4 A heart in every thought renewed, And full of love divine, Perfect and right and pure and good, A copy, Lord, of Thine! 5 Thy nature, gracious Lord, impart; Come quickly from above; Write Thy new name upon my heart, Thy new, best name of Love. Talk with Us, Lord

Author: Charles Wesley, 1707-1788 Hymnal: African Methodist Episcopal Church Hymnal #346 (2011) Meter: 8.6.8.6 Hymnal Title: African Methodist Episcopal Church Hymnal First Line: Talk with us, Lord, Thyself reveal Lyrics: 1 Talk with us, Lord, Thyself reveal, While here o'er earth we rove; Speak to our hearts, and let us feel The kindling of Thy love. 2 With Thee conversing, we forget All time and toil and care; Labor is rest, and pain is sweet, If Thou, my God, art here. 3 Here, then, my God, vouchsafe to stay, And bid my heart rejoice; My bounding heart shall own Thy sway, And echo to Thy voice. 4 Thou callest me to seek Thy face, 'Tis all I wish to seek; To hear the whispers of Thy grace, And hear Thee inly speak. 5 Let this my every hour employ, Till I Thy glory see; Enter into my Master's joy, And find my heaven in Thee. Jesus, My Lord, How Rich Thy Grace

Author: Philip Doddridge Hymnal: American Lutheran Hymnal #253 (1930) Meter: 8.6.8.6 Hymnal Title: American Lutheran Hymnal Lyrics: 1 Jesus, my Lord, how rich Thy grace, Thy bounties how complete! How shall I count the matchless sum, How pay the mighty debt? 2 High on a throne of radiant light, Dost Thou exalted shine: What can my poverty bestow, When all the worlds are Thine? 3 But Thou hast brethren here below, The partners of Thy grace, And wilt confess their humble names Before Thy Father’s face. 4 In them Thou may'st be clothed and fed, And visited and cheered; And in their accents of distress My Savior’s voice is heard. 5 Thy face, with rev'rence and with love, We in Thy poor would see; O let us rather beg our bread Than keep it back from Thee. Amen. Topics: The Christian Life Giving; The Christian Church Inner Missions Languages: English Tune Title: BEATITUDO

How bright these glorious spirits shine!

Author: Isaac Watts (1674-1748) Hymnal: Ancient and Modern #303a (2013) Meter: 8.6.8.6 Hymnal Title: Ancient and Modern Lyrics: 1 How bright these glorious spirits shine! Whence all their white array? How came they to the blissful seats of everlasting day? 2 Lo! these are they from sufferings great who came to realms of light, and in the blood of Christ have washed those robes that shine so bright. 3 Now with triumphal palms they stand before the throne on high, and serve the God they love amidst the glories of the sky. 4 Hunger and thirst are felt no more, nor sun with scorching ray: God is their sun, whose cheering beams diffuse eternal day. 5 The Lamb, who dwells amid the throne, shall o'er them still preside, feed them with nourishment divine, and all their footsteps guide. 6 In pastures green he'll lead his flock where living streams appear; and God the Lord from every eye shall wipe off every tear. Topics: Heaven; Jesus Names and images for Scripture: Psalm 23:1-3 Languages: English Tune Title: BEATITUDO
