70. What a Smile Will Do

1 A smile will do so many things,
It seems almost divine;
I wish they all had angel wings,
And everywhere could shine.
A smile will brighter make the way
That leads to heav’n above,
Will brighter make the darkest day
A smile with cheer and love.

Refrain:
It will lighten the way, it will brighten the day,
It will scatter the clouds of life;
So whenever you may, just keep smiling away
All the worry and care and strife.

2 A smile will help us do the right,
And nerve us for the fray;
A smile of cheer and sunny light
Will help to win the day.
Then scatter smiles of sunny cheer,
Wherever you may be,
To drive away the gloom and fear,
And bring the victory. [Refrain]

3 A smile will make a happy face
For all who keep it there,
And help us onward in the race,
To drive away all care.
A smile will do so many things,
It seems almost divine;
I wish they all had angel wings,
And everywhere could shine. [Refrain]
