[The heavens declare the glory of God]

Hymnal: VoP1883 #384 (1883) Scripture: Psalm 19 Lyrics: 1 The heavens declare the glory of God: and the firmament showeth His handy work. 2 Day unto day uttereth speech: and night unto night showeth knowledge. 3 There is no speech nor language: where their voice is not heard. 4 Their line is gone out througt all the earth: and their words to the end of the world. 5 In them hath He set a tabernacle for the sun: which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. 6 His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and its circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof. 7 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. 8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. 9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true, and righteous altogether. 10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much find gold: sweeter also than honey, and the honey comb. 11 Moreover, by them is Thy servant warned: and in keeping them there is great reward. 12 Who can understand his errors; cleanse Thou me from secret faults. 13 Keep back Thy servant also from presumptuous sins, let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression. 14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart: be acceptable in Thy sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son: and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning is now, and eve shall be: world without end. Amen. The Lord is my shepherd: I shall not want

Hymnal: VoP1883 #385a (1883) Scripture: Psalm 23 Lyrics: 1 The Lord is my shepherd: I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His Name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me, Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil, my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son: and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be: world without end Amen. Have mercy upon me, O God

Hymnal: VoP1883 #386a (1883) Scripture: Psalm 51 Lyrics: 1 Have mercy upon me, O God: according to Thy lovingkindness. 2 According unto the multitude of Thy tender mercies: blot out my transgressions. 3 Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity: and cleanse me from my sin. 4 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. 5 Against thee, Thee only, have I sinned: and done this evil in Thy sight. 6 That Thou mightest be justified when Thou speakest: and be clear when Thou judgest. 7 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity: and in sin did my mother conceive me. 8 Behold Thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom. 9 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. 10 Make me to hear joy and gladness: that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. 11 Hide Thy face from my sins: and blot out all mine iniquities. 12 Create in me a clean heart O God: and renew a right spirit within me. 13 Cast me not away from Thy presence: and take not Thy Holy Spirit from me. 14 Restore unto me the joy of Thy salvation: and uphold me with Thy free Spirit. 15 Then will I teach transgressors Thy ways: and sinners shall be converted unto Thee. 16 O Lord, open thou my lips: and my mouth shall show forth Thy praise. 17 For Thou desirest not sacrifice else would I give it: Thou delightest not in burnt offerings. 18 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart O God, Thou wilt, not despise. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son: and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be: world without end AMEN. How amiable are thy tabernacles

Hymnal: VoP1883 #388a (1883) Scripture: Psalm 84 Lyrics: 1 How amiable are Thy tabernacles: O Lord of hosts! 2 My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God. 3 Yea, the sparrow hath found a house and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young: even Thine altars, O Lord of hosts, my King and my God. 4 Blessed are they that dwell in Thy house: they will be still praising Thee. 5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in Thee: in whose heart are the ways of them. 6 Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well: and rain also filleth the pools. 7 They go from strength to strength: every one of them in Sion appeareth before God. 8 O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear O God of Jacob. 9 Behold O God our shield; and look upon the face of Thine anointed. 10 For a day in Thy courts is better than a thousand: I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. 11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory, no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly. 12 O Lord of hosts: blessed is the man that trusteth in Thee. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son: and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be: world without end Amen. Lord, Thou hast been favourable unto Thy land

Hymnal: VoP1883 #389a (1883) Scripture: Psalm 85 Lyrics: 1 Lord, Thou hast been favourable unto Thy land: Thou hast brought back the captivity of Jacob. 2 Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of Thy people: Thou hast covered all their sin. 3 Thou has taken away all Thy wrath: Thou hast turned Thyself from the fierceness of Thine anger. 4 Turn us, O God of our salvation: and cause Thine anger toward us to cease. 5 Wilt Thou be angry with us forever: wilt Thou draw out Thine anger to all generations. 6 Wilt Thou not revive us again: that Thy people may rejoice in Thee. 7 Show us Thy mercy O Lord: and grant us Thy salvation. 8 I will hear what God the Lord will speak: for He will speak peace unto His people and to His saints, but let them not turn again to folly. 9 Surely His salvation is nigh them that fear Him: that glory may dwell in our land. 10 Mercy and truth are met together: righteousness and peace have kissed each other. 11 Truth shall spring out of the earth: and righteousness shall look down from heaven. 12 Yea, the Lord shall give that which is good: and our land shall yield her increase. 13 Righteousness shall go before Him: and shall set us in the way of His steps. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son: and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be: world without end Amen.
