Author: Isaac Watts Hymnal: Laudes Domini #545 (1888) Hymnal Title: Laudes Domini First Line: Great God! whose universal sway Lyrics: 1 Great God! whose universal sway
The known and unknown worlds obey;
Now give the kingdom to thy Son;
Extend his power, exalt his throne.
2 As rain on meadows newly mown,
So shall he send his influence down;
His grace, on fainting souls, distills
Like heavenly dew on thirsty hills.
3 The heathen lands, that lie beneath
The shades of everspreading death,
Revive at his first dawning light,
And deserts blossom at the sight.
4 The saints shall flourish in his days,
Dressed in the robes of joy and praise;
Peace, like a river, from his throne,
Shall flow to nations yet unknown. Topics: Church Missions of; Church Work of Scripture: Psalm 72:8 Languages: English Tune Title: WARD
