1819 - 1896 Author of "Forms beloved, whose memory haunts me" Weidemeyer, John W. Born at Fredericksburg, Virginia, and was of German parentage. He lived mostly in New York City, Brooklyn, and vicinity. When a boy, he wrote anonymously for Horace Greeley's New Yorker, and later contributed poems to various periodicals. In 1865 he published a collection of poems, entitled Real and Ideal and other volumes.
