Hymnal: A Collection of Hymns and A Liturgy #258 (1814) Meter: 6.6.8.6 Hymnal Title: A Collection of Hymns and A Liturgy Lyrics: 1 Come, ye that love the Lord,
And let your joys be known;
Join in a song with sweet accord,
Whilst ye surround the throne.
2 Let those refuse to sing,
Who never knew our God:
But servants of the heav'nly King
May speak their joys abroad.
3 The God, who rules on high,
Who all the earth surveys,
Who rides upon the stormy sky,
And calms the roaring seas:
4 This awful God is ours,
Our father and our love;
He will send down his heav'nly pow'rs,
To carry us above.
5 There we shall see his face,
And never, never sin!
There, from the rivers of his grace,
Drink endless pleasures in.
6 Yea, and before we rise
To that immortal state,
The thoughts of such amazing bliss
Should constant joys create.
7 The men of grace have found
Glory begun below.
Celestial fruit on earthly ground
From faith and hope may grow.
8 Then let our songs abound,
And ev'ry tear be dry:
We're marching through Immanuel's ground
To fairer worlds on high. Topics: The Joy and Happiness of True Christians Languages: English
