Ye who own the faith of Jesus

Author: Vincent Stuckey Stratton Coles (1845-1929) Hymnal: Ancient and Modern #318 (2013) Meter: 8.7.8.7.8.7 with refrain Hymnal Title: Ancient and Modern Lyrics: 1 Ye who own the faith of Jesus sing the wonders that were done, when the love of God the Father o'er our sin the victory won, when he made the Virgin Mary Mother of his only Son. Hail Mary, full of grace. 2 Blessèd were the chosen people out of whom the Lord did come, blessèd was the land of promise fashioned for his earthly home; but more blessèd far the Mother she who bare him in her womb. Hail Mary, full of grace. 3 Wherefore let all faithful people tell the honour of her name, let the church in her foreshadowed part in her thanksgiving claim; what Christ's Mother sang in gladness let Christ's people sing the same. Hail Mary, full of grace. 4 Let us weave our supplications, she with us and we with her, for the advancement of the faithful, for each faithful worshipper, for the doubting, for the sinful, for each heedless wanderer. Hail Mary, full of grace. 5 May the Mother's intercessions on our homes a blessing win, that the children all be prospered, strong and fair and pure within, following our Lord's own footsteps, firm in faith and free from sin. Hail Mary, full of grace. 6 For the sick and for the aged, for our dear ones far away, for the hearts that mourn in secret, all who need our prayers today, for the faithful gone before us, may the holy Virgin pray. Hail Mary, full of grace. 7 Praise, O Mary, praise the Father, praise thy Saviour and thy Son, praise the everlasting Spirit, who hath made thee ark and throne; o'er all creatures high exalted, lowly praise the Three in One. Hail Mary, full of grace. There's a wideness in God's mercy

Author: Frederick William Faber, 1814-1863 Hymnal: Complete Anglican Hymns Old and New #662 (2000) Meter: 8.7.8.7 D Hymnal Title: Complete Anglican Hymns Old and New Lyrics: 1 There's a wideness in God's mercy, like the wideness of the sea; there's a kindness in his justice, which is more than liberty. There is no place where earth's sorrows are more felt than up in heav'n; there is no place where earth's failings have such kindly judgement giv'n. 2 But we make his love too narrow by false limits of our own; and we magnify his strictness with a zeal he would not own. There is plentiful redemption in the blood that has been shed, there is joy for all the members in the sorrows of the Head. 3 For the love of God is broader than the scope of human mind, and the heart of the Eternal is most wonderfully kind. If our love were but more simple, we should take him at his word; and our hearts would find assurance in the promise of the Lord. Topics: Funerals; Grace and Providence; Redemption and Salvation; Temptation, Penitence and Forgiveness; Year A Lent 5; Year B Proper 14; Year B Proper 5 Scripture: Psalm 130:7 Languages: English Tune Title: DAILY DAILY

Hymnal: Laudis Corona #11 (1880) Hymnal Title: Laudis Corona Lyrics: 1 Daily, daily sing to Mary, Sing, my soul, her praises due; All her feasts, her actions worship, With the heart's devotion true. Chorus: Thou to whom a Child was given Greater than the sons of men, Coming down from highest heaven, To create this world of sin. 4 Oh! by that Almighty Maker Whom thyself, a virgin bore; Oh by thy Supreme Creator, Linked with thee forevermore; Chorus: By the hope thy name inspires; By our doom, reversed thro' thee; Help us, Queen of Angel choirs, To a blest eternity. O, that I might hear the angels

Author: Anon. Hymnal: The Church Hymnal #588 (1920) Hymnal Title: The Church Hymnal First Line: Daily, daily sing the praises Lyrics: 1 Daily, daily sing the praises Of the City God hath made; In the beauteous fields of Eden Its foundation stones are laid: O that I might hear the angels Singing o'er the crystal sea, And amidst the fields of Eden Find a home prepared for me! 2 All the walls of that dear City Are of bright and burnished gold; It is matchless in its beauty, And its treasures are untold. O that I might, etc. 3 There are sounds of many voices In the golden streets above, Filling all the air with gladness, Blended in eternal love. O that I might, etc. 4 In those quiet resting places, Midst the pastures green and fair, Jesus gathers in the homeless, And He dwells among them there. O that I might, etc. 5 Can we see the happy faces Of the dear ones gone before? They are ready now to greet us When we gain that blessed shore. O that I might, etc. 6 Then the pearly gates, unfolding, Never shall be closed again, We shall see within the City Jesus, 'mid His white-robed train. O that I might, etc. 7 O I would my ears were open Here to catch that happy strain! O I would my eyes some vision Of that Eden could attain! O that I might, etc. Topics: General Processionals Languages: English Tune Title: DAILY, DAILY

Hail, Triumphant King Of Glory

Author: William L. Collett Hymnal: The Cyber Hymnal #8574 Meter: 8.7.8.7 D Hymnal Title: The Cyber Hymnal Lyrics: 1 Hail, triumphant King of glory, Prince of power and Lord of life! Angel hosts and men adore Thee, Who hast conquered in the strife! 2 Now behold Eve’s strong temptation Healed by Mary’s sinless Son, Adam’s curse by Christ’s salvation, Eden lost by Heaven won. 3 O may we, once new created In the pure, life giving flood, Still to Thee be consecrated, Daily rise from sin to God. 4 Dead be every deed unholy, Buried each unhallowed lust, Living now to Jesus solely, Rise we from corruption’s dust. 5 Crown Him then, ye hosts of glory, Angels hymn the Victor’s praise, Sing, ye saints, the wondrous story, Chant it in your festal lays. 6 Blessing, honor, might, dominion, Give to Heav’n’s eternal king, From whose glorious resurrection All our hopes of glory spring. Seraphs Laud Thee

Author: Thomas McCullagh Hymnal: The Cyber Hymnal #9517 Meter: 8.7.8.7 D Hymnal Title: The Cyber Hymnal First Line: Seraphs laud Thee, God the Father, Lyrics: 1 Seraphs laud Thee, God the Father, In the sweetest, noblest lays; Can it be that Thou wouldst rather Listen unto children’s praise? Yes; Thou hearkenest to our voices, Children’s voices though they be; Take the glory each rejoices, Lord of all, to render Thee. 2 Cherubs praise Thee, God the Savior, In sublimest strains above; Wilt Thou grant to us Thy favor, And accept of children’s love? Yes; Thou listenest to our singing, Children’s singing though it be; Take the hearts we all are bringing, Sovereign Son, to Thee, to Thee. 3 Angels praise Thee, God the Spirit, Source of life and light and truth; Wilt Thou, for the Savior’s merit, Hear the simpler songs of youth? Thou receiv’st our adoration, Children’s homage though it be; Make our hearts a new creation, Holy Spirit, fit for Thee. 4 Triune God, the heavens hail Thee, Harpers, choirs, and white robed throng, Nor shall children’s voices fail Thee In the universal song. Now receive our highest praises, Children’s praises though they be; Then to bliss at last upraise us, Triune God, to worship Thee. Languages: English Tune Title: ISCHGL
