Sambika 21 #555: Burning heart

My effort to post this resulted in the following message, which is emphatically not correct and simply points up the uselessness of spam filters (as attested by the many true spambot posts that get on here):

Your submission has triggered the installed spam filter and will not be accepted.

I have posted the item on my blog instead, here. Responses in either location are solicited.

FWIW, even the foregoing triggered the CAPTCHA requirement. But the original post didn't even trigger that option, just a flat-out slap in my polyglottal hymnistic face. ;-(

I apologize for my sarcastic tone, but I do really get tired of having to constantly (almost every time) type CAPTCHAs here, while I see silly "This is a great sight thanks for the info here are all my links to viagra and shoe salesmen webzines" type posts getting through. This post, too, of course triggered a CAPTCHA; "We are sorry, but the spam filter on this site decided that your submission could be spam. Please fill in the CAPTCHA below to get your submission accepted.".

For what it's worth, the spam filter has blocked 2,763 spam attempts in the last 98 days, all of which would have had to have been deleted by hand...

I'm glad to know it's doing some good, to offset the hurt it does my feelings! Maybe if I knew what exactly it would *not* allow I would be better able to avoid feeling dissed by it when I write my scholarly posts. I remember a time on a Baptist discussion forum when I was unable to tell people who the author of a certain book was because his name was Yamashita and the board's filter was set to reject any occurrence of the letter string "s-h-i-t" without the hyphens (though it actually would allow it with the hyphens!). Can you look at the post on my blog and see what it was that triggered an absolute refusal to accept the post, CAPTCHA or no CAPTCHA?

It's this post.

Masato Sakurai left this link on the Mudcat Café thread I started about this hymn. There's some good information there, and the website in question is a very valuable resource that I had previously not been aware of.
