I'm sort of drawing a blank on cat hymns. Anybody know any good Christian hymns in which cats figure as topic or allusion, image or singer, aside from the Lion of Judah ones? There are a few British antivivisection hymns that could be used, but they seem rather political when they aren't hopelessly mushy. I'm thinking more of something that could be used on St. Francis' Day, or at a pet funeral.

The only thing that comes to
The only thing that comes to mind is the movement of Britten's "Rejoice in the Lamb" that starts with Christopher Smart's poem: "For I will consider my Cat Jeoffry."
Consider the cat
Yes, a hymnic adaptation of the Smart piece would be ideal. I preach on Jeoffry to my own cats.
