Groups? Issue Tracker? Global Hymnody?

Under "Other" in the left sidebar I see something called "Groups"; many of these "groups" have one member. The one I was initially most interested in exploring, "Global Hymnody", has no members. Not sure what will happen if I add myself. Went to the Wiki to see if there was any information on "Groups" and found nothing.

Then there's something called "Issue Tracker", and when I click on that link I'm raptured over to a page in CCEL that tells me I'm not logged in and need some sort of special privileges. Again, the Wiki has no information.

...concerning the topics of this query. Where can I find out about "Groups" and "Issue Tracker"? And would it make sense for me to "join" the group on "Global Hymnody"?

Haruo,

You are looking in the 'editor tools' menu. These items are not for general site users. The 'groups' menu, for example, has to do with managing group ownership of resources--for example, a hymnal committee or church worship group that wants to have resources only they can see and edit.

I am not clear on my status here, I guess. I have done some editing here. I passed the little course and had a training hymnal started at one point, but I don't see it in the "Other: Training hymnal" list now. You have advised me to use Editor Tools in the past. I am working on several spreadsheets for eventual addition to the database. If I am supposed to have access to some tools but not others, it would be helpful to know which.

Most of the stuff under "Other" you don't need to worry about, with the exception of the Wiki. To add a hymnal via a spreadsheet you would add the hymnal under the "Add new" heading and then work with the set of Editor tools available from the hymnal. Completed training hymnals were deleted in order to clean up the database.

Okay, I was wondering about the training hymnal, since it was still listed in the "Ownership" drop-down list of unpublished items yet I couldn't find it.

I am still a long way from having any of my in-progress spreadsheets finished.

Incidentally, is anyone doing a spreadsheet on Alice Parker's Melodious Accord Hymnal (or would that be Melodious accord hymnal?) that debuted at the Birmingham convocation to great acclaim. Or for that matter Maggi Tucker's Hymns of Truth and Light (FCC, Houston)? Both of those have some interesting, unique materials that would not just be another in an interminable list of virtually identical instances.
