Choosing is over now

Yesterday, I indexed the second instance of Douglas Wilson's "Blest now (or is) the man who does not walk" (the one in TPHr2022). I noticed the difference between the first line of Wilson's text as indexed in the 2002 Cantus Christi (Blest now...) and the 2022 Treasury of Psalms and Hymns (revised), so I wrote to Mr. Wilson and asked him which he would prefer be merged into the other at the text authority level. He replied,

"Leland, thanks for checking. There were a few slight changes between the 2002 Cantus and the 2020 Cantus, and the Treasury I believe, reflects those changes."

This suggests to me that it would best be indexed under "is", but when I went in to do so, I found that someone had already merged them into "now". Even though the 2020 Cantus Christi is still not in the database, I think it would be best to move the current "now" text authority to "is". But I'm not sure if this runs counter to some little codicil in the editors' instructions packet. What is the standard in a case like this? Dianne?
