Significant pagination issues

Haruo's picture

I was looking for early instances of Tappan's "There is an hour of hallowed peace" and "There is an hour of peaceful rest", which are apparently distinct and separate hymns, one with four-line stanzas and the other with five-line stanzas,  The first stanzas are, to illustrate,

1 There is an hour of hallowed peace
For those with care oppressed,
When sighs and sorrowing tears shall cease,
And all be hushed to rest:

and

1 There is an hour of peaceful rest,
To mourning wanderers given;
There is a joy for souls distressed,
A balm for every wounded breast--
’Tis found above--in heaven.

In the course of this bit of research, I found significant confusing pagination issues at this page (and I think generally throughout that hymnal's contents, though I haven't checked every page). The page in question comes up in searching for "There is an hour of hallowed peace". The list of instances includes the above-linked instance, but it leads to a page where the only texts are "From Greenland's icy mountain" and "Hail to the Lord's Anointed". The text sought (and its tune, RIVERSTON in this case) are found on the next two pages rather than the page linked to. The 1833 edition has this issue. The 1835 edition seems to be okay.
