Thought I'd pass on what I discovered this morning. The author of this text (http://www.hymnary.org/text/why_am_i_so_weak_and_weary) is Charles Carroll Sawyer (1833-1890). His portrait is at https://www.periodpaper.com/collections/portrait/products/1900-wood-engraving-charles-carroll-sawyer-portrait-music-composer-lyricist-203831-xma5-202.

Could you put a scan of this score online? Would like to consider for inclusion in the Cyber Hymnal™.

Thanks for the information. We show that this hymn appears in the hymnals "Hymns of Progress" published by William White and Co., Boston, 1864 and "Sabbath School Trumpet" published by Oliver Ditson & Co., Boston, 1864. Page scans of "Hymns of Progress" can be found on Internet Archive. It is text only. I was not able to find page scans for "Sabbath School Trumpet" In order to add the page scans for either of these hymnals we will first need to put the hymns in order, as the numbers in our database do not match the numbers in the hymnal. Our staff is not currently working on these older DNAH hymnals, but perhaps a volunteer would be willing to work on these.
