The Person Name search box in the left hand column should search both the names in the hymnal instances and in the authority but it seems to only be searching the name in the authority. We have plans to fix this issue, but it may take awhile. In the meantime, the "Search the entire Hymnary" box should be able to find the people you are looking for.
