I'm in the process of adding the data for the current (1991) Denson edition of the Sacred Harp, and am just flabbergasted at the idea that DNAH didn't bring a copy of the 1844 original's contents with it. The 1860 revision is there, but not the 1844, which is where BEACH SPRING and a number of other major tunes first hit hard-copy status. How did this amazing lacuna manage to subsist this long? I don't have a copy of it, or I would post it myself.
