G. A. Stearns -- the evidence?

A large percentage of the instances of We're Traveling Home to Heaven Above show G. A. Stearns as the author. On what grounds? This is currently under discussion on the Fasola Discussion Google Group, here, and I am afraid that Rachel Hall appears to be correct when she writes that "Hymnary.com attributes it to "G. A. Stearns" for no good reason I can find." There may be some hymnal in the database that makes this attribution, but I have yet to locate it, and the instances I have been able to study (i.e. the ones with page scans) appear to provide no basis for the Stearns authorship.

Comments

I removed the attribution to Stearns from the text authority, replacing it with a statement that Stearns has been "suggested" as the author.

I would note that unlike Stearns, the Jukes attributions are supported by their page scans. But I am not sure that there is enough evidence on the point to warrant listing Jukes on the authority page as the Author.
