Rival tune names: LAWISTON vs. THANKSGIVING

I just created a new tune, lawiston_statham, which on investigation turned out to be identical to one from the Cyber Hymnal™ called thanksgiving_statham. How does one decide in such cases which should be merged into what?

It also appears that aylesbury_chetham and wirksworth_chetham are a single tune. Whichever survives, aylesbury_wirksworth (which I just created) should also be merged into it.

6 hymnals call the tune AYLESBURY and 4 call it WIRKWORTH. We go with the majority for the tune authority. In cases where there is a tie, either tune name will do.

that searching for a tune called "Wirksworth" yields no data. What's a person who only knows it by that name to do? A system of redirects like those used at Wikipedia when an article's title is changed (not to mention disambiguation pages) would be a major help to searchers here, I think. (I mean, you do get two hits, but when you click on them they both go to "File Not Found", instead of redirecting to AYLESBURY (Chetham).

I merged these Monday, so they were temporarily unavailable. A search of WIRKSWORTH will bring someone to AYLESBURY. There's a note that the tune is also called WIRKSWORTH, and if they scroll farther down to the instances they can see that it is called both AYLESURY and WIRKSWORTH>

It kind of throws me sometimes the way some things I enter are instantaneously available while others take up to 24 hours. (And I sometimes don't recall how long it's been, precisely, since I edited something. I guess I figure, subconsciously, that if you've replied to my query then it's the next day and it should be available.)
