Text: | Jesus, our Lord! how rich thy grace! |
Author: | Doddridge |
1 Jesus our Lord! how rich thy grace!
Thy bounties--how complete!
How shall we count the wondrous sum,
Or pay the mighty debt?
2 High on a throne of radiant light
Dost thou exalted shine;
What can our poverty bestow,
Since all the world is thine?
3 But thou hast brethren here below,
The children of thy grace,
Whose humble names thou wilt confess
Before thy Father's face.
4 In them thou mayst be clothed and fed,
Be visited and cheered;
And, in their accents of distress,
The Saviour's voice be heard.
5 Whate'er our willing hearts can give,
Lord, at thy feet we lay;
Grace will the humble gift receive,
And grace at length repay.
