CCCLX. In vain Apollo's silver tongue

In vain Apollo's silver tongue,
And Paul's with strains profound,
Diffuse among the listening throng,
The gospel's gladdening sound:

2 Jesus, the work is wholly thine
To form the heart anew,
Now let thy sovereign grace divine
Each stubborn soul subdue.
