1 Great God, whose universal sway
All heaven reveres, all worlds obey,
Now make the Saviour's glory known;
Extend his power, exalt his throne.

2 Thy scepter well becomes his hands;
Angels submit to his commands;
His justice shall protect the poor,
And pride and rage prevail no more.

3 With power he vindicates the just,
And treads the oppressor in the dust;
His righteous government shall last
Till days, and years, and time be past.
