193. A Song of Praise

1 My heart uplifts a happy song,
While tender recollections throng;
As sweet as bells that ring above,
The strains that breathe my Saviour’s love.

Refrain:
And above the reset this note shall swell,
This note shall swell, this note shall swell,
And above the rest this note shall swell,
My Jesus hath done all things well.

2 Have sparkling sunbeams cheered the day,
And roses bloomed along the way?
Let mem’ry each fair scene recall,
And bless the Lord who sent them all. [Refrain]

3 Or have the clouds o’erspread the sky,
While at my feet the roses die?
Since Jesus bore the cross for me,
I’ll trust him though I cannot see. [Refrain]

4 Bright angels, sweep your harps of gold,
But half his praise hath not been told.
Come, all who my Redeemer know,
Still let the joyful music flow. [Refrain]
