229b. Lord, from the Heart, and Depth of Woe

1. Lord from the Heart, and Depth of Woe,
My Cry, to Thee, I send.
2. Hear, Lord, my Voice, and to my Pray'r,
O let thine Ear attend.
3. Should'st thou, O Lord, observe our Crimes,
Who could the Tryal bear ?
4. But there Forgiveness is with Thee,
That thou may'st be our Fear.

5. My Soul doth for Jehovah wait;
And I hope in his Word.
6. No Watch-men long for dawning Light,
As my Soul for the Lord.
7. Let Isr'el trust in God, the Source
Of all redeeming Grace;
8. Who will compleat Redemption grant,
And all their Sins efface.
