284. Hail, O Once Rejected Jesus

1 Hail, O once rejected Jesus!
Hail,O Galilean King!
You who suffered to release us,
You our free salvation bring.
Hail, O universal Savior,
You have borne our sins and shame;
By your merits we find favor;
Life is given through your name.

2 Paschal Lamb, by God appointed,
All our sins on you were laid;
By almighty love anointed,
You have full atonement made.
Every sin has been forgiven
Through the virtue of your blood;
Open is the gate of heaven,
Peace between mankind and God.

3 Jesus, hail, enthroned in glory,
There forever to abide!
All the heav'nly host adore you,
Seated at your Father's side,
Where for sinners you are pleading
While our place preparing there,
Ever for us interceding
Till we in your glory share.

4 Worship, honor, pow'r, and blessing
You are worthy to receive;
Loudest praises, without ceasing,
We are privileged to give,
While the bright angelic spirits,
Robed in heav'n's resplendent rays,
Help to sing our Savior's merits,
Help to chant Immanuel's praise.
