A Prayer of Acclamation and Thanksgiving
Loving God, you gave the righteousness of Christ to cloak us. You wanted to warm us in a world grown chilly from our sin. You wanted to remove our sins from view, to clothe our nakedness, to ease our shame, to celebrate us as your loved sons and daughters. And so we give you hearty thanks through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Based on Galatians 3:27, this short acclamation was written as a response to the act of baptism.The text and music come from Music for the Rite of Funerals and Rite of Baptism for Children, produced by the International Committee on English in the Liturgy Coorporation, a joint commission of Catholic bishops conferences in countries where English is used in celebration of the Sacred Liturgy, with the purpose of translating each of the Latin Liturgical books into English.
