45. I Am Saved By the Blood

1 I am saved by the blood of my Savior
Which flow’d from His wounded side
When He opened the kingdom of heaven
And Jesus on Calvary died.

Refrain:
I am saved by the blood, hallelujah!
And its pow’r would my tongue proclaim;
I am saved by the blood of my Savior,
And I love, O I love His name!

2 I am saved by the blood of my Savior,
The price of redemption paid
When the sins of the world on the Victim
By God in His justice were laid. [Refrain]

3 I am saved by the blood—and I prize it—
The life of the Son of God;
On the cross He was slain for my ransom,
Alone He the winepress hath trod. [Refrain]

4 I am saved by the blood, I am pardoned
And kept from the fearful day
Of temptation when all the ungodly
Like tares shall be scattered away. [Refrain]
