26. At an Hour that Ye Think Not

1 “At an hour that ye think not” the Master will come,
An account from His own He’ll demand,
For the time and the talents committed to you,
He that day will require at your hand.

Chorus:
The Master is coming, beware ye!
The Master is coming, prepare ye!
Keep your lamps trimmed and burning to greet His returning,
“At an hour that ye think not” He’s coming.

2 “At an hour that ye think not” the Judge will descend,
And the trump of the archangel sound;
he has given us warning and bids us to watch,
And each one at his post to be found. [Chorus]

3 “At an hour that ye think not” the Bridegroom will call
For the church, His beloved, His bride;
The redeemed who in white wedding garments are dressed,
For the faithful the true and the tried. [Chorus]

4 “At an hour that ye think not,” what joy it will be,
When the King comes to bring back His own,
If He looks with approval upon you and me,
And we hear His applaud-it “well done.” [Chorus]
