99. My thought are open to you, Lord

My thoughts are open to you, Lord,
before they're formed within;
before my lips pronounce a word,
you know the sense I mean.

If winged with beams of morning light,
I fly beyond the west,
your hand, which must support my flight,
would know my place of rest.

If o’er my sins I thought to draw
the curtains of the night,
your love and truth, which guard your law,
would turn the shades to light.

O wondrous knowledge, high and deep!
No subtle sin can hide;
I am secure awake, asleep,
your arms on every side.

God, let your grace surround me still,
a bulwark from above;
it guards my soul from every ill!
I'm safe in sovereign love.
