69. This is the day the Lord hath made

This is the day the Lord hath made,
he calls the hours his own;
let heaven rejoice, let earth be glad,
let praise surround his throne!
The Lord appears my helper now,
my faith is not afraid
of what the powers of earth can do,
for heaven affords me aid.

Through you, my God, my heart is strong,
in you my lips rejoice:
when your salvation is my song,
how cheerful is my voice!
To all do joy and peace belong;
for you protect their days;
the world shall sing immortal songs
to your almighty grace.
