40. Lord, it's a pleasant thing to stand

Lord, it’s a pleasant thing to stand
in gardens planted by your hand;
that is the place I would be seen
like palm or cedar, fresh and green.

There grow your saints in faith and love,
blessed with your influence from above;
not Lebanon, with all its trees,
yields such a comely sight as these.

Well blessed with fruits of life, they show
that God is holy, just, and true.
All who approach your gates shall find
that you are faithful, good, and kind.
