92. There's a Song in My Heart

1 There’s a song in my heart, ‘tis a glorious song,
It is filled beyond measure with peace,
‘Tis full of a joy that I cannot repress,
And its rapture must ever increase.
I have heard of a wonderful fountain of life,
I have tested its power to save,
And my soul glorified shall rejoice evermore,
For the life and the strength that it gave.

Refrain:
O His blood, full and free, is a ransom for me,
And His peace puts an end to all strife,
I may take, if I will, I may drink to my fill
Of the wonderful water of life.

2 Once I sat by the wayside, in doubt and despair,
I was weary and worn with the heat,
I was hungry and thirsty and could not go on,
For the highway was rough to my feet.
Then I gave up to die, when I heard a sweet voice,
Saying, “Drink of the water I give.”
And behold, by the wayside a fountain, I saw
And a stranger who said, “Drink and live.” [Refrain]

3 When I drank from the wonderful fountain near by,
I was saved and the stranger I knew,
It was Christ the Redeemer; His blood is the fount
That will give life to me and to you.
Will you come? He is calling and offering life,
Will you take what He freely will give?
Without money or gift will you come now to Christ;
Will you drink of the water and live? [Refrain]
