Text: | Sing to the Lord Most High |
Author: | Timothy Dwight, 1752-1817 |
Tune: | ARTHUR'S SEAT |
Arranger: | U. C. Burnap, 1834-1900 |
1 Sing to the Lord most high;
Let every land adore,
With grateful voice make known
His goodness and His power.
Let cheerful songs declare His ways,
And let His praise inspire your tongues.
2 Enter His courts with joy;
With fear address the Lord;
He formed us with His hand,
And quickened by His Word.
With wide command He spreads His sway
O’er every sea and every land.
3 His hands provide our food,
And every blessing give;
We feed upon His care,
And in His pastures live.
With cheerful songs declare His ways,
And let His praise inspire our tongues.
4 Good is the Lord our God,
His truth and mercy sure;
While earth and heaven shall last,
His promises endure,
With bounteous hand He spreads His sway
O’er every sea and every land.
