142. We'll Be Gathered In

1 When the toils of life are done, and its battles have been won,
And we've passed the danger signs of life's rough way;
When our trials all are o'er, to be met with nevermore,
We'll be gathered to the land of endless day.

Refrain:
We'll be gathered in,
We'll be gathered in,
We'll be gathered from the heart and from the cold;
We'll walk the narrow way.
To the realms of endless day,
And be gathered by the Shepherd in the fold.

2 When the wicked world shall flee from the face of equity,
And beneath the rocks and mountains try to hide,
All who love the truth shall stand happy at the Lord's right hand,
Safe forever in God's presence to abide. [Refrain]

3 Oh, transgressor, come and go and escape the dreadful woe
That awaits the one who lives a sinner bold;
While the Saviour calls you in, leave the dangerous paths of sin,
And be gathered by the Shepherd in the fold. [Refrain]

4 Don't you hear the Shepherd's call: Come, ye wand'rers, one and all.
Why yet wander far away in heat and cold?
Hear the call of Mercy now, and at Jesus' footstool bow,
And be gathered by the Shepherd in the fold. [Refrain]
