50. Lord, I Come Pleading

1 Lord, I come pleading and praying to thee,
Seeking salvation so full and so free,
Hung’ring and thirsting Thy fulness to know,
Wash me and I shall be whiter than snow.

Refrain:
Lord I come pleading—pleading with Thee,
Seeking salvation so full and so free,
Hung’ring and thirsting Thy fulness to know,
Wash me and I shall be whiter than snow.

2 Gladly I give Thee my will and my all;
Self and possessions are Thine at Thy call;
Where’er Thy Spirit doth lead I would go;
Lord, now Thy fulness of blessings bestow. [Refrain]

3 Come, blessed Spirit, and dwell Thou within,
Sanctify, purge me, and cleanse me from sin;
Grant me for service the pow’r from on high,
Lord, to the world and the flesh let me die. [Refrain]

4 I am believing—by faith I can see
Thou hast accepted my off’ring to Thee;
Sweetly I rest in Thine infinite love,
Peace now comes in life a heavenly dove. [Refrain]
