108. Living Water

1 As I sought with weary flitting
Where to dwell, where to dwell,
Came I to the Master sitting
On the well;
‘Twas the well of health and cheer,
Living water fresh and clear.

Refrain:
O the Master is sitting on the well,
O the Master is sitting on the well;
And the Living Water flows;
Giving life where’er it goes,
While the Master is sitting on the well.

2 From the living depths He brought is,
Bubbling up, bubbling up,
And to me who faintly sought it,
Gave the cup;
Life was in the draught He gave,
Springing life to help and save. [Refrain]

3 From the dreary desert turning,
Pause and drink, pause and drink;
Calm the striving, cool the burning,
At its brink;
Here find healing and repose,
Where the Living Water flows. [Refrain]
