108. The Happy Land

1 There is a land, a sunny clime,
The brightest ever seen,
Which lies beyond the shores of time,
Beyond cold Jordan’s stream.

Refrain:
Oh, that land, that happy land,
Far away, far away,
Where the saints in glory stand,
Bright as day, bright as day.

2 Beneath the tree of life’s dense shade
Life’s river floweth by,
And youth and beauty never fade,
For there they never die. [Refrain]

3 I long to reach that land so fair,
My dwelling-place to see;
Among the many mansions there,
Is one prepared for me. [Refrain]
