Text Information:

This 20th-century paraphrase of Isaiah 11:6-9 and 55:11-13 was created specifically for this anonymous shape note tune (whose name is Hebrew for “listener”). The movement from near rhymes in stanza one to exact rhymes in stanza two reinforces the theme of fulfilled prophecy.
