87. Jesus is Coming Again

1 Over the valleys, hilltops and mountains
Rings out the shout from woodland and plain;
Sing it, ye rivers, seas, lakes and fountains,
Jesus to earth is coming again.

2 Coming again; O glorious the tidings!
Let all the earth take up the glad refrain.
Shout it aloud, ye isles of the ocean,
Jesus to earth is coming again.

3 Cheering each pilgrim, way-worn and weary,
No more we hear him fret or complain;
Bright is the way that once was so dreary;
Jesus to earth is coming again.

4 Coming to take us over the river,
Where we shall sing of Him who was slain;
Gladly, then, sing His praises for ever;
Jesus to earth is coming again.
