245. Nature’s Glad Song

1 Sweetest songs now are lifting to the God above,
Ev’rywhere, Nature’s telling of His wondrous love;
Wood and field now are ringing all the happy day,
Bird-land ev’rywhere is singing
Bird-land’s sweetest lay.

Refrain:
Joy-notes ev’rywhere are sounding,
Join with heart and voice;
Gladness ev’rywhere abounding!
Let us all rejoice.

2 Children’s songs, like the bird-notes, drive the gloom away,
Let them sing sweetest music on this Children’s Day,
As the earth in its gladness, lifts a song of praise,
So our hearts should banish sadness,
And a glad song raise. [Refrain]

3 Let us all join the chorus in the joy of June,
Hearts aglow, faces bright and voices all in tune,
Praising God in love’s measure for His gracious care,
And the Summer’s golden treasure,
Which we freely share. [Refrain]
