9026. Thinking Of Home

1 I am thinking today of my friends far away,
Some I never shall see any more;
Until death sets me free, from this body of clay,
And my troubles and trials are o’er.

Refrain:
I am thinking today of that home far away,
And its joys how I long to behold;
There no sorrows can come to that sweet, happy home,
And its pleasures can never be told.

2 Oh, how happy we’ll be when our loved ones we see,
Who have gone on before us to Heav’n;
We shall sing of His love in the mansions above,
Where to us a new song shall be giv’n. [Refrain]

3 There our fathers have gone and are resting at home,
Blessèd Savior is waiting for me;
Yes, our mothers are there in that home bright and fair,
And I hope we shall them again. [Refrain]

4 We have brothers at rest in that home of the blest,
Where no cryings or pains ever come;
There our sisters we’ll see
And at rest ever be, in that beautiful, sweet, happy home. [Refrain]
