1 Oft I am so lonely, in this world of care,
But I know in Glory, no sad ones dwell there.
Yes, I know, in Heaven, Jesus waits for me;
When my work is ended, I shall with Him be.
2 When I enter Heaven — city, bright and fair,
He’ll be first to welcome me, a child and heir
To those heav’nly treasures laid, by Christ, in store,
For the weary traveler when this life is o’er.
3 Why, then, should I wander blindly here in sin,
When in Heaven yonder is a crown to win.
O dear Savior, guide me, keep me by Thy side;
May I now and ever in Thy love abide.
