14623. Jubilate

1 How jubilant and clear they ring,
Those joyous Easter bells;
As to and fro their great tongues swing,
How sweet the music swells;
The gentle breezes catch the tones,
And waft them far and near;
Of hope and comfort do they speak
Unto the listening ear.

Refrain:
Jubilate, jubilate,
Hear as they gently swing,
Jubilate, Jesus Christ forevermore is King,
Jubilate, jubilate,
Hear as they gently swing,
Jubilate, Christ foreā€™er is King.

2 How cheerily and blithe they ring,
Those gladsome Easter bells;
As to and fro their great tongues swing
Of love their music tells.
The Father sent His only Son
From realms of bliss on high,
Upon the Mount of Calvary
For sinful men to die. [Refrain]

3 How merrily and gaily ring
Those happy Easter bells;
As to and fro their great tongues swing
How clear their music swells;
The grave could not enchain our king,
Death must yield up its prey;
The Victor over every foe,
Christ Jesus rose today. [Refrain]
