12277. The Stars Are Brightly Shining

1 The stars are brightly shining,
Above a peaceful plain,
While shepherds watch and listen,
To hear a glad refrain.

Refrain:
The angels sing the message,
"Good will on earth we bring;
The Prince of Peace we herald now,
Your Savior and your king."

2 The wise men, too, are watching
The star that shall arise!
In glorious beauty lighting
The midnight darkened skies. [Refrain]

3 Thro’ the whole world the summons
Comes from the sky to earth,
"Awake, and give your homage,
Proclaim the Savior’s birth. [Refrain]
