Text: | The Worker's Prayer |
Author: | E. W. Oakes |
Tune: | [O Thou who dwellest in the sky] |
Composer: | P. Bilhorn |
1 O Thou who dwellest in the sky,
Whose praise the ransom'd sing,
Help me to humbly now draw nigh,
My "prayer of faith" to bring.
My "prayer of faith" to bring.
2 I bow before Thy mercy seat,
Where Love and Peace abound,
For God and sinners there can meet
Upon Redemption ground.
Upon Redemption ground.
3 My Jesus, make me pure within,
And fill me with Thy Love;
And keep me from the paths of sin,
By grace sent from above.
By grace sent from above.
4 Oh! give me power to preach Thy word,
With no uncertain sound,
And ever magnify the blood,
Where peace alone is found.
Where peace alone is found.
5 May all my days and hours be spent
In working, Lord, for Thee,
That other souls may know thy love
Thro' all eternity.
Thro' all eternity.
