59. Child of Sin and Sorrow

1 Child of sin and sorrow,
Filled with dismay,
Wait not for tomorrow,
Yield thee today;
Heav’n bids thee come,
While yet there’s room;
Child of sin and sorrow,
Hear and obey.

2 Child of sin and sorrow,
Why wilt thou die?
Come while thou canst borrow
Help from on high;
Grieve not that love
Which, from above,
Child of sin and sorrow,
Would bring thee nigh.

3 Child of sin and sorrow,
Thy moments glide,
Like the flitting arrow,
Or rushing tide;
Ere time is o’er,
Heav’n’s grace implore;
Child of sin and sorrow,
In Christ confide.
