1 Are you all alone in the jostling crowds,
Midst them all is there none to care,
Are you by yourself in a cheerless world,
Have you no one your griefs to share?

Alone, alone you need not be,
For Christ, the Lord your Friend will be,

2 Do you think that nobody wants your love,
And that nobody needs you here?
There is One in heav’n who is seeking you
And to Him you are very dear. [Refrain]

3 There are many round who are lonely too,
And to help them will cheer your heart;
If you seek to be just the friend they need,
You will no more feel left apart. [Refrain]

4 You will be less lonely as days go by,
If some souls for the Lord you win,
And your heav’n itself will be sweeter too,
When you see them all enter in. [Refrain]
